TinEar Sound & Stage was established c.1974, after BJ heard Donny Waller playing guitar at Freddy's Factory (Billiard Ball) in Hatboro, with a band called MST. After talking with Donny about the sound system, BJ enrolled at Lyons Techinical Institute to learn more about the technology, and proceeded to build some "Voice of the Theatre" and monitor cabinets. Instead of attending the 2nd semester at Lyons, he dropped out and used his student loan money to buy a 14-channel Mom's mixing board. Now he was ready to rock and roll doing sound for several regional "garage" bands.
